Here’s what we’re up to in support of Baby Loss Awareness Week 2019

Precious Babies Remembrance Services
7.30pm, Thursday 10 October
The Ark Methodist Church, Jack Andrews Drive, Colchester CO4 9FF

3pm, Sunday 13 October
St Michael & All Angels Church, The Drift, Martlesham Heath IP5 3PL

Prayers are said and each baby is remembered with the lighting of a candle, the service is followed by refreshments. This service is for anyone who has suffered a loss of a baby recently or in the past.

Hospital light up
We will be turning the front of Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals pink and blue throughout Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Tealights in the garden
If you’re passing through Colchester Hospital during the week you will see tealights glowing the the maternity garden in support of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Display and remembrance ribbons
There will be an interactive display at the T-junction between the main corridor and South Wards at Ipswich Hospital all week. Paper ribbons for you to personalise will be available to pin to our display board each day.

Radio interview
11am, Thursday 10 October
The team will be talking to Radio Suffolk about baby loss and how they can help families and their relatives during this difficult time.

Market stall
9.30am – 4.00pm, Wednesday 9 October
Cornhill, Ipswich IP1 1BH
Visit the Baby Bereavement team for a cupcake and a chat. There will be pin badges on sale too.

Tree of Remembrance
Sunday 13 October
Holywells Park, Ipswich IP3 0PG
This event is for families who have received an invite. We will be adding new leaves to the Tree of Remembrance and joining together afterwards in the gorgeous Orangery situated in the park for light refreshments.

Coffee morning
9.30am – 2.00pm, Monday 14 October
The Starlight Tea Chapel, Colchester Crematorium, Mersea Road, Colchester CO2 8RU

Join the Rosemary Suite team from Colchester Hospital for a cuppa in these beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Drop in anytime. You can chat or simply reflect and there’s will be the opportunity to light a candle for your precious loss.

Global Wave of Light
7pm, Tuesday 15 October
Marking the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week, please light a candle in memory of all of the precious babies gone too soon and leave it burning for at 1 hour. Families around the world will be doing this at 7pm local time creating a ripple of remembrance.
