FAQ

How fit do I need to be?

You don’t need to be super fit to abseil, but you do need to have a reasonable level of mobility. Please contact us if you have any special access requirements or questions about any restrictions and we will see if we can accommodate these. You will also be asked to sign a disclaimer on the day. We recommend that if anyone has concerns about their health or ability to complete the abseil that they consult their GP first.

Age limit and weight restrictions

Any participants under 18 (minimum age is 10) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will be required to sign the disclaimer form which will also act as a consent form. There is a maximum weight limit of 100kg or 16st.

What kit will I need?

Although we are encouraging you to come in Halloween costumes please bear in mind that flowing garments may need to be tucked in and you will be required to wear a helmet and gloves. You will also require sensible footwear such as trainers, no high heels please.

Do I have to raise £150?

We have a sponsorship target of £150 to ensure that the charity covers all the costs for the event and raises as much money as possible for the wards, departments and appeals. You can choose to support any of our wards, departments or appeals and if you think you can raise more than the minimum target, please do so! The more you raise the bigger difference it will make to your chosen area. If you have a question about whether you can support a particular area, please get in touch. If you are anxious about the fundraising target, try not to worry! We have lots of handy hints and tips to help you with your fundraising and creative ideas to help boost it!
