Sessions are now open to book onto the revised dates

Join us in the brand new RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital and be part of this memorable occasion.

Help bring the new garden to life by volunteering as an individual or team and add the finishing touches to this beautiful space.

You will be required to help plant the new plants but fear not, no experience is needed, as tools and training will be provided.

We will be planting a variety of perennial plants, which will involve using spades or hand trowels to dig planting holes. Some kneeling and bending may be required but a demonstration of the tasks will be given. Other tasks may include watering in the plants, raking and levelling soil. We will provide you with gloves, tools and kneelers, however if you have a favourite garden spade, gloves or trowel, you are welcome to bring this along.

Choose a date and session that suits you. You do not need to attend the whole session but we would appreciate as much help as possible. If you would like to attend the full day please select multiple sessions across the day. The lunchtime sessions are designed for staff to attend a 20-30 minute slot to plant one plant.

We have hundreds of plants to put in their forever homes so please register to bring your friends along to help. For any enquires please contact [email protected].

RHS Communities are also looking for volunteers to help with on-going gardening and up-keep of the new Wellbeing Garden and their allotment. If you're interested in volunteering and making a difference to the wellbeing of your community please contact [email protected].
