Patients, visitors and staff in our older people services wards and community hospitals were treated to tea and cakes from Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity to mark this special occasion. As the NHS celebrated it's 75th anniversary we held our own very special NHS Big Teas and sat with patients as they shared their special memories of the NHS.

Professor Clive Simms recalled his 45 years of service within the NHS at St Clements Hospital and in Forensic Psychology. A visitor joyfully shared she had recently celebrated her 75th birthday. They told us how her Mum was disappointed to have given birth to her just 4 days before the launch of the NHS, therefore having to pay the midwife one and six to have her delivered.
