Fundraise Fundraising news Wedding themed party raises funds for Cancer Wellbeing Supporter Kerry Snell and her Husband issued a dress code with a difference to raise £2,240 for the Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre at Ipswich Hospital with the help of loved ones. Due to restrictions, Kerry could not fully enjoy her wedding and reception as it happened during the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, they decided to recreate the celebration with loved ones in aid of the Centre. They invited all of their family and friends to put on their best wedding outfits and have fun whilst helping others. They chose Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity to support because the centre had helped one of her friends. Kerry said, “The evening was a massive success! We raised £2,240, which is more than we ever imagined. Everyone went to so much effort - we had brides, grooms and many very smartly dressed people. We have received so many lovely comments from people who loved our event so much. Local businesses were incredible and so generous." Visiting the centre Kerry said, “I can see why my friend wanted the money to go there. The staff are amazing, they are there for anyone affected by cancer. They give you key information about who to contact, what for, when, what resources are available and how to access them. They are such lovely, caring and kind people who need support from fundraisers like us!” Manage Cookie Preferences
